Physical description of property and statement of historical significance:'
This was Floyd and Gertrude Flanery's House. They were' both phannacists and had a
drugstore on Main Street: The FlaneJ:Y's had this house built for them in the 1920's.
The house is VeJ:Y large and designed after the Colonial style. It is two full stories
with a one story semi-enclosed back porch, enclosed side porch, and carport which
may have been addeq later. The roof is gabled and simple with decorative leaded
window panes in each of the dormer windows. There are single half-circle transom
windows on each end. The fireplace brick, however, is exposed on the south side
and interrupts the transom window, cutting it in, half. The shutters on the windows
are later additions, but the remainder of the exterior appears to be original.
The v.DOdwork is varnished and original inside with built-in shelving and an elaborate
central staircase. There is a full basement, living and dining rcx:rn, sun rcx:rn, kitchen,
and breakfast nook. The second floor oontained the bedrooms and the library. A
bathrcx:rnwas on the second floor and a half bath was on the first floor.
