RE: Job# C8-225 Hayden Bridge Filter Plant Final Electrical Inspection
Mr. Richardson:
The standby generator at the Hayden Bridge Filtration Plant is an optional standby
generator rated 344 kVA (275 kW x 0.8pf) which distributes standby power through Panel
EGD to three automatic transfer switches (ATS's):
EGT -1, existing (feeds Panel MCT)
EGT-2, existing (feeds Panel EDP-1)
ATS11001, installed as part of this expansion (feeds Panel 11002)
To comply with your February 18, 2010 request of a load calculation for Panel EGD,
recording power meters were installed on the normal power side of each of these three
ATS's. The meters were installed on March 10, 2010, time-synched, and recorded power
measurements until they were removed on March 29, 2010. During this time the maximum
load was simulated by energizing all of the equipment fed from the three ATS's that would
be running during the worst case water treatment process condition. The measured load
was used to provide the load calculation for Panel EGD per NEC article 220.87:
116 kVA - Maximum measured load for EGT-1 & EGT-2
x 1.25 - oer NEC 220.87
145 kVA
+ 83 kVA - Load for Panel 11002 Der Danel schedule on drawina D-31267-E10
228 kVA, or 274 amps at 480 volts - TOTAL LOAD for Panel EGO
