Gary Karp Springfield Planning Department 225 North 5th Street Springfield, OR 97477 SUBJECT: Water Service Comments for Proposed Dairy Queen Restaurant at Pioneer Plaza Dear Gary, We offer the following comments on the site plan for this development dated 9/14/89 by Bruce Sinkey. Architect. 1. At the time of the Pioneer Plaza construction. it was agreed by the owner and engineer that water service for this site would be provided from a separate water meter located on the building pad on the east side of the entrance/exit road to the east of this site. The reason was to minimize the pavement cuts on Q Street. As a result of this decision. it was agreed that we would provide water service to the meter on the pad to the east and that the builder for the proposed Dairy Queen Restaurant would take water service at this point and install the water service line from the meter to the building. It is our understanding that an empty pipe sleeve was installed under the entrance drive by the site contractor to preclude cutting the pavement for this water service. Our service line is installed up to and including the meter box that lies behind the sidewalk 100 feet east of the lot. The site plan should be corrected to show the water service line entering from the east. 2. We will provide an estimate of water service costs when requested by the architect or owner. .S~ ~.~:::1 Superi ntendent 1550 N. 42nd St. · P,O. Box 8. Springfield, OR 97477 · 503/746-1676
