As you address these hazardous conditions, please consider the
following. The Springfield Housing Code specifies that every dwelling
unit and guest room shall be provided with heating facilities capable
of maintaining a room temperature of seventy degrees F. Oregon state
law further specifies that all electrical work done on property that
is for sale, rent, or lease, must be done by a properly licensed
electrical contractor. Please also be advised that permits are
required for the repair work, and may be obtained from the public
works department.
We will check back with you within the next thirty days to see
how you are progressing. If you complete corrections earlier, or if
you have any questions, please feel free to call us at the Springfield
Building Safety Division. Our number is 726-3753. Thank you in
advance for making Springfield a safe place to live.
Sincerely,
Richard C. Sellers
