Subject: Electrical Installations
Dear Mr. Ownings:
I am writing to you relative to the installation of electrical
equipment by an electric utility company. My questions are:
Is it permissible for an electric utility company to install on
private property which it aoes not own or manage ana without the
services of a licensea electrical contractor, an outaoor
lighting system where the system is unmeterea, the wiring ana
the light fixtures are ownea ana maintainea by the utility, the
poles are ownea by the property owner?
If the answer to my first question is no, woula it be
permissible if the utility aoes not own but aoes manage the
poles by perioaic inspection?
This letter is written in an effort to obtain an interpretation from
your office ana to promote an air of unaerstanaing ana cooperation
among local utilities, contractors ana enforcing agents.
I take this opportunity to thank you for your time ana effort in
answering my questions.
Sincerely,
~~
