Per our conversation of this afternoon, the Fire Marshall will allow our request for
sprinkler omission at the sandblast room for this project, per OSSC Section 904.4.1,
subject to the following provisions:
. A technical report (as defined under Uniform Fire Code Section 103,1,1) from a
testing agency, certifying that the byproducts for the sandblasting operations are
non-combustible,
. The installation of non-combustible sheathng within the room (no plywood or
rubber sheething)
. An increased sprinkler density (as approved by the Fire Marshal), suitable for the
excess fire load which may result from a fire in the blast room, which may be
caused by the improper storage or use of combustible materials,
. Sign at the door to the blast room stating "THIS ROOM RESTRICTED TO NON-
COMBUSTIBLE CONTENTS ONLY" in 6" high 1/2" stroke letters.
