ORDINANCE NO. 5648
(GENERAL)
AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING CITY RECORDS RETENTION, REPEALING
EXISTING SECTION 1-13-8 AND ADOPTING A NEW SECTION 1-13-8 OF THE
SPRINGFIELD CODE 1965.
THE CITY OF SPRINGFIELD DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
section 1: Section 1-13-8 of the Springfield Code 1965 is
hereby repealed.
section 2: There is hereby adopted a new section 1-13-8
of the Springfield Code 1965 reading as follows:
"1-13-8 Records Retention Schedule. All city records,
files, documents and papers now on file in each department
of the City of Springfield shall be retained in accordance
with Oregon Administrative Rule (OAR) 166-40-1200, adopted
by the Secretary of State as administrator of the Archivist
office of the State of Oregon. Said OAR, being entitled or
referred to as the City Records Retention Schedule is
hereby adopted by the City of Springfield by reference and
made a part of this Code as fully and completely as though
set forth in full herein, along with any subsequent
changes, modifications, or alterations in such Schedule
duly adopted by Oregon Administrative Rule. The Schedule
so incorporated shall be adhered to and shall govern the
retention and disposal of all records of the City. A
current copy of such OAR Schedule shall be kept on file in
the office of the City Recorder at all times."
