Subject: Fire damage at 925 Olympic Street, Springfield, Oregon
Dear Mr. Crosby:
At the request of the Springfield Fire and Life Safety Department, the Building
Safety Division recently conducted an inspection of the fire damage at the above
address. The inspection revealed damage which must be corrected in order for
the building to comply with applicable City safety codes. The following items
must be repaired or replaced:
Structural
1.* The fire damage report indicated that a rafter was burned through, which
would significantly reduce the ability of the roof the support the loads for
which it was designed. Access to the attic was not available during our
inspection, so the condition could not be verified. However,based on the
fire damage report, it appears that the damage is extensive enough to
require repair or replacement of the damaged rafter.

The light fixture above the kitchen sink, and

additional modifications you may desire which involve changes or additions to the

obtained from this office.
Please have a means of access to the attic available when you call for inspec-
tions of the repair work.
Please note that installation and repair of electrical systems on property which
is intended for lease, sale or rent must be done by an electrical contractor who
is licensed by the state of Oregon.
