ORDINANCE NO. 5608
AN ORDINANCE WITHDRAWING CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY LOCATED IN WEST
SPRINGFIELD, SOUTH OF CENTENNIAL BOULEVARD, EAST OF 1-5, AT THE NORTHWEST
CORNER OF WALNUT ROAD AND ASPEN STREET (T17S R03W S34 MAP 23 PARCELS 600
AND 601); HERETOFORE ANNEXED TO THE CITY SPRINGFIELD FROM THE RAINBOW
WATER DISTRICT.
WHEREAS, certain real property described below was annexed to the City of
Springfield by order of Lane County Local Government Boundary Commission under Boundary
Commission Final Order Number EC SP 91 - 19 and further described in Attachment 2, and
WHEREAS, the property to be withdrawn is located within the boundaries of the
Rainbow Water District, and
WHEREAS, the City of Springfield City Council held a public hearing in the Springfield
City Council Chambers on February 18, 1992 in accordance with ORS 222.524, for the
purpose of hearing any objections to the withdrawal of the properties mentioned from the
public service district mentioned and there having been no objections raised.
NOW THEREFORE THE CITY OF SPRINGFIELD DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: The Council of the City of Springfield does hereby determine that the real
property described should be in the best interest of the City of Springfield withdrawn from the
Rainbow Water District in Lane County, Oregon, insofar as the property is located therein.
Section 2: The Common Council of the City of Springfield does hereby determine that
the following described real property within the boundaries of the Rainbow Water District is
and shall be upon the effective date of this ordinance withdrawn from the Rainbow Water
District in Lane County, Oregon, said property being described as follows:
Township 17 South, Range 3 West, Section 34, Map 23, Tax Lots 600 and
~60 1, as more particularly described in Attachment 2 of this ordinance,
Boundary Commission Final Order No. EC SP 91 - 19.
ADOPTED by the Common Council of the City of Springfield this 18th day of February,
1992, by a vote of ~ for and ~ against.
APPROVED by the Mayor of the City of Springfield this 18th day of February, 1992.

ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF SPRINGFIELD (STEFFENSEN)

By this correspondence, let it be known that:
1. A petition for annexation of territory to the City of Springfield,
located in west Springfield, east of 1-5, west of Aspen Street, north of
Walnut Road (T17S R03W S34 Map~arcel 600 and part of parcel 601),
was filed on May 23, 1991 with the Lane County Local Government Boundary
Commission in accordance with OR 199.466 and ORS 199.490(1)(c).

2. An analysis was prepared by the boundary commission staff with a
recommendation of approval and sent, on June 7, 1991 to the Lane
boundary commission members, Lane County commissioners, Lane County Land
Management Division, Lane County Environmental Health Division, City of
Springfield, Willamalane Park and Recreation District, and Elizabeth and
Leslie Steffensen.
3. No request for public hearing was received by 5:00 p.m., June 17, 1991.
4. In accordance with ORS 199.466, this annexation proposal, described in
attached Exhibit A and shown on attached map Exhibit B, is hereby
approved and effective June 17, 1991 (ORS 199.466 and 199.519).
Please acknowledge receipt of this correspondence.
NOTE: The territory is within the Rainbow Water District and will be
withdrawn through separate proceedings by the City of Springfield in
accordance with ORS 222.
In accordance with ORS 199.510(2)(C), the above described territory is hereby
a part of the Lane County Metropolitan Wastewater Service District, a county
service district organized under ORS 451, which is a part of the City of
Springfield.
