Appointment to the Community Development Advisory Committee (CDAC) Management Analyst Lynn Nakamura provided the staff report. There are four vacancies on the Community Development Advisory Committee. Of the four vacancies, two incumbents are seeking re-appointment and have submitted applications. The other two positions are vacant. A total of six applications have been received, including the applications ,of the two incumbents. All applicants live within the Springfield city limits, making them eligible to apply. Ms. Nakamura explained the CDAC advises the City Council on all matters relating to the city's housing and community development activities, which are funded annually from the Community Development Block Grant program administered by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The two incumbents are Jeanette Cardwell and Melody Graves. Ms. Cardwell is the current chair of the CDAC. In reviewing the applications, Ms. Nakamura suggested two criteria are to provide a broad representation of the city and previous experience with city boards and committees. Councilor Beyer asked what areas the previous committee members lived.
