City of Springfield Council Tour MINUTES OF A TOUR OF THE LANE CENTRAL JUSTICE COURT BUILDING BY THE SPRINGFIELD CITY COUNCIL HELD MONDAY, JANUARY 25, 1993 The City of Springfield Council met in Work Session to tour the Lane Central Justice Court Building, 220 A Street, Springfield, Oregon, on Monday, January 25, 1993 at 5:30 p.m. with Mayor Morrisette presiding. ATTENDANCE Present were Mayor Morrisette, Councilors Schanz, Walters, and Berg. Also Present were City Manager Michael Kelly, Assistant City Manager Gino Grimaldi, City Recorder Eileen Stein, Finance Director Judy Boles, Public Works Director Dan Brown, Police Captain Richard Golden, and Court Supervisor Rosie Davis. Others present were Mr. Don Carter, owner; Mr. Linn West, Admundson and Associates; and Ms. Gabriele Glenn, Lane Central Justice Court Supervisor. The Council met at the Lane Central Justice Court Building to conduct a tour of the facility. Mr. Carter explained that the building is not on the real estate market, but he would consider selling it to the city. He explained how the city became interested in the building, due to the need for expansion by the Court, Police Department and City Prosecutor's Office. Mr. Carter told the Council he thought his building would work well for the city as a Court facility and discussed the present lease he has with Lane County, which expires in two years. He commented that Lane County has been a good tenant. Mr. Carter then passed out a fact sheet on the property and indicated the building is in compliance with the American Disabilities Act (ADA) standards. Mr. Carter led the tour of the building through the Court area and into the TCI Cable and Storybook areas. Mr. Carter gave background information on the ownership of the building and announced Willamette Valley Awards has bought his building at 5th and Main Streets, previously occupied by Mogul Mouse.
