DEMOLITION PERMIT APPLICATIONS
Your demolition permit is currently being processed. There may be a slight delay, of
up to 2 working days for small structures, due to the time required to review the
history of the structure to determine if it needs to be documented before demolition.
This documentation is for archival purposes only and will not affect the gra'nting of
the demolition permit. If the structure is very large or complicated the
documentation process may take up to a maximum of4 working days.
Documentation will consist of photographing the building, taking measurements and
making scaled drawings. The documentation will,be undertaken by the City at no cost
to you. Documentation is being done on all structures dated prior to 1940 that may
have historic importance to the City's development. ' .

On August 28th, 2009 at your request, a site investigation was conducted at
the above mentioned address, the purpose being to meet the rules set forth
by the Lane Regional Air Pollution Authorities Title 43 which requires a
survey be conducted by an accredited inspector attempting to identifY any
asbestos containing materials that may require reconcile prior to the intended
demolition of this structure. From the homogeneous list of building materials
established at this location, twenty three (23) suspect bulk material samples
were collected from the r09f, windows ceilings, walls and floors. These
samples were submitted to an accredited lab for analysis for asbestos
content.
The results fr9lTI the lab indicated that Asbestos greater than 1 % was found
in two of the materials sampled during this investigation.
One of the non-friable bituminous roof patch material and in one specific
type of sealant used on limited portions of the HV AC duct system on the
roof. The first of which (sample # MP-02) can be included with the rest of
the roof system during the demolition process provided it is kept wet,
covered during transport and disposed of in a Title 5 permitted landfill that
accepts this type of waste.

On October 1,2009 the second material (sample # MP-04) was abated by a
licensed Asbestos Abatement Contractor, the Pacific Environmental Group
Inc. of Eugene, Oregon.'
The structure following this investigation and required abatement exercise is
considered ready for demolition pursuant to the rules and regulations
specified in OR DEQ Division 268 and LRAPA's title 43 regarding
asbestos.
All samples collected were done so by individuals with current EP A
AHERA I ASHARA asbestos inspection credentials.
Copies of these credentials are on file at the Veneta Oregon office of
Douglas International LLC.
