PROCEDURAL OUTLINE FOR FLOOR TILE INSTALLATION
845 Northridge, Spfld
(To accompany model of materials)
1. Plywood decking for tile base.
2. Expanded wire 6 - 8" on center, nailed
3. PCI Flex-mortar. Troweled on 1/4" to 5/16" through the
expanded metal.
PURPOSE: To bond to plywood.

Allows for fexibility with

4. Perimeter cove base sealed with flex-mortar.
PURPOSE: Set grade height for slope.
5. Mortar mix (3 parts sand, 1 part cement, 1/8 lime)
Trowel on. Thickness to be varied from a maximum
height of 1 1/4" at cove base and thinning-out toward drain.
PURPOSE: Create slope for drain; create bond with
flex-mortar.
[Cure time: 4 days]
6. Cove base for tile. Sealed with flex-mortar.
7 ~CI flex-tight as water-proof membrane. Troweled on.
~ ~inimum 25mil to 30mil thickness. Thickness tested with
trowel edge. Tile subcontractor has 18 years of tile
installation experience, and will insure uniform
installation.
[Cure time: 4 days]
8. Flex-mortar used as thin-setting material to set tile.
9. Tile grouted. Grout sealed with silicone.

Thank you for selecting PCI-Flextiyht on your latc~t projoct.
Flextight has been used in Germany for many years as a
waterproofing slurry. In Germany they call the prOduct Seccoral.
In Germany there is no direct specification for waterproofing
slurries of this type sanctioned by DIN (Deutsche Industrie
Nationale). In the united States the nationally recognized
governing body for tile installation methods and installation
matel"ials ANSI (American National Standards Institute) does not
have a waterproofing specification. Until ANSI and PIN dovelop
their own specifications we must rely on other reputable sources.
Seccoral (a.k.a. Flextight) is approved by the Technical
University of Munich - 227.2-108 and approved by the German
Institute of Building Technology as a waterproofing slurry. Both
of these are conservative and reputable sources and should surely
satisfy your request for waterproofnc~s.

Komponente I vorfegen.
Pulvar-Komponenle II ZU98ben und mil
PCI-KorbrOhrer M 35 oder, bol kleineran
Mengen, mil dam PCI-Doppelschelben-
rOhrer M 34 (Bohl1l1aschine 400-800
Upm) zu einer knollenlreien, geschmeidi-
gen Schlamme anrnachen. FOr den ersten
Auftrag, der 1m StrelChverlahren erlolgt,
werden noch ca. 10 DfoWasserzugegebon.

Wasser verdOnnl oder mil frischem MOI1el
vennischt werder\. Jegliche welleren Zu-
satze sind unzuliisslg.

trowel. In areas exposed to foot traffic the
coating must be protected by suitable
means, e. g. a top screed, ceramic tile,
etc.
Do not apply Pel-Rextight at temperatu-
res below 410 F (50 C).
Prevent premature drying out of the
green application and protect it from ex-
treme hea~ direct solar radiation, air
draft, frost and rain for at least 3 days. in-
stal the coating in such a way that no
water can penetrate behind it
Mechanical damage to the coating must
be avoided by all means. Allow coating
