Mr. Stan Boggie contacted my office in regards to his residence at 3904 North Street in ~
Springfield. He has informed me that you placed the responsibility of the backyard "drainage
problem" upon Hayden Homes. After a review of the residence and after witnessing the 0
excavation of the home first hand, prior to building, I can state with confidence that the 1
Soggie residence was excavated too low.
In fact, the excavation contractor Express Co. used the Hayden Homes Jasper Park t'IJ" . '
subdivision. as a dumpsite for the "ex~ess" materia~s. Due to the elevation error and th~ lack 0
any precautIonary measures taken dunng constructlon I strongly recommend that you Install a .
French drain. >-_:....
Installation of this system both to the north and the east of the Boggie residence should sOlve~"" ""
this problem as long as positive slope can be achieved towards the street. An inspection ofth
under-floor drain to ensure its proper working order would also be most prudent I regret to
inform you that ultimately a sump pump may be necessary, as it appears the home is at the
lowest point of the city block between South Redwood Drive and North Street.
If you are in need of professional contractors that perform this type of work I would be happy
to give you a list of names and numbers.
