Minimum Development Standards (MDS) requirements
1505 Main Street - Jo. No. 98~7~150. These requirements are tied ta City Council issues relating to
beautifYing the City, improving City streets and the transportation system. and supporting economic
development.
Dear Mr. Jones:
We have reviewed your application and plot plan for attaching a Spiral Spuds food cart to an existing
office building, adding drive-thru and two curb cuts for circulation, The City Transportation Planning
Engineer accompanied me to view the site and discuss any issues,
Our traffic division has determined that your proposal for adding curb cuts and driveway would
create a hazardous situation. Additional information may be obtained by contacting
Transportation Planning Engineer Masood Mirza at 726-4585 or Oregon Department of
Transportation (ODOT) at 726.2552,
Your existing parking area for the business offiee is not adequate to also provide any additional
parking spaces for your food cart proposaL Springfield Development Code Article 18,070 states
that in any case, not less than 4 off.street parking places shall be required in commercial
districts, which is minimum for the existing business office use, One handicap space is also
required, (I'he designated "handicapped" parking space is a 9-j1, space with an abutting access
aisle at least 8 feet wide, as part of an accessible route to the building entrance.)
Please feel free to contact me in the event you have any questions in this regard at 726-3610,
Sincerely,
Julie Scott
