City Job #911118 At the request of your tenant, the Springfield Building Safety Division conducted an inspection of the property located at the above address. The inspection revealed items which do not meet the minimum City Housing Code requirements and must be corrected. They consist of the following: Electrical 1. The mobile home electrical service connection does not conform to the State requirements for mobile home connections. The flexible supply cord connecting the mobile home to the service pedestal shall consist of #6 wire in a four conductor cable which is listed for use with mobile homes. The mobile home shall be properly grounded through the supply cord. 2. Improper splicing of electrical wiring was observed. The splices or terminal end of electrical wiring under the mobile home must be contained in an approved junction box, with a cover, to prevent possible electric shock or fire resulting from exposed electrical wiring or short-circuit conditions. 3. The electrical supply system is not adequately sized for electric heat. The electric baseboard heaters must be disconnected, or the electrical supply system shall be properly sized to accommodate the heaters. Please note, an appropriate permanent source of heat must be maintained in all dwellings. The heat source must be capable of maintalillng a temperature of 68 degrees at 36 inches above the floor in all habitable areas. The required corrections shall be completed with appropriate inspection approvals from this office within five (5) days from the date of this notice. Please note that installation or repair of electrical systems on property which is intended for lease, sale or rent must be done by an electrical contractor who is licensed by the State of Oregon.
