At 2212 hours, 803. 831, 839, 824, 841 & 854 were dispatched to 1263 Main SI., Space 39 for a kitchen fire in a mobile home.
831 arrived at 2217 hours with a mobile home heavily involved with fire and two mobile home exposures that were starting to bum
as well. The power lines were beginning to arc and the electric service drop to the mobile home of origin burned off and fell to the
ground. 831 attacked the fire from the outside and hit the exposures right away. 841 was next in and pUlled a second line to both
extinguish the fire and protect exposures. 841 & 824 provided their tank water to 831 as the hydrant location was not conducive
to providing immediate water supply. When 854 arrived, they cut the chain to the gate at the south entrance to the mobile home
park and hand stretched a supply line across South A and were preparing to connect to 831 and charge the line when it was
detennined that 824 and 841 could shuttle enough water to meet the needs of the fire. 854 also assisted in finding the occupant of
the mobile home, who had been wandering around in the park after exiting his mobile home. The fire was under control at 2236
hours. A visual PAR was conducted and found all crews in tact.
When the occupant of the '1'obile home was found, ij was detennined that he had inhaled some smoke and sustained bums to the
hands and feel. Medic 859 transported the occupant to McKenzie-Willamette Hospital. The occupant's condition had not been
updated prior to 803 leaving the scene.
SPD, SUB, Pia. Medic 839 and fire investigators from the FMD were called to the scene. Red Cross also responded to the scene
and assisted occupants of one of the mobile home exposures that were damaged by the fire.
Upon their arrival, 841 attempted to access the fire from the entrance gate off of South A. When they could not see an obvious
point of entry, they drove around to the north side and entered the park off Main SI.
824 provided water and assisted with ovemaul. 831 made the initial attack, ovemauled and conducted a primary search; the
search was all clear. 841 assisted with attack and exposure protection.
The fire was still under investigation when 803 left the scene.

831 Giles, Leo
Engine 831 responded to the reported structure fire in a mobile home at 1263 Main Street #39. at 2213 hours. I arrived at 2217
hours and found a single wide mobile home that was almost entirely involved in fire and venting out all the windows of the north
half of the house. I instructed FF Mullen to stretch a 1 314" line to the front of the house as I walked to the south and west side of
the house to better size up the situation. An electrical hazard was immediately noted in the overhead powerlines arcing and the
service drop arcing. Two trailers to the west of the involved home were severe exposures at at risk of involvement. I directed
Mullen to cool the exposures.and then moved to fighting the fire from the exterior.
Access to the scene was complicated by several vehides in the driveway, one that was inoperable and the hazard of overhead
powerlines that were arcing. Numerous bystanders were in the area of hazard and were generally difficult to manage and further
complicated the scene. The occupant of space # 40 was contacted and instructed to remain ouside and across the street. He then
re-entered his home that was filling with smoke. I immediately removed him from the home.
I returned to assisting Mullen with the exterior attack and later assigned to Captain Cox for entry and extinguishment. The fire was
contained and overhaul completed on the structure. Several weak spots in the floor caused Mullen and later Bryan to fall partly to
the floor. Bryan complained of some minor knee pain that didn~ require further evaluation. At approximately 2345 hours I was
alerted to a smoke in the trailer at space #40. it was discovered that a small fire had been smoldering in the south east comer
after being exposed to radiant heat from the earlier fire. Some panelling was removed to check for extension and none was found.
The scene was turned over to DFM Wicks, Parmelee and Gordon at 0045 hours. No equipment was damaged and Jeff Bryan
completed an illness and injury report.

824 was dispatched with a full first alarm assignment to 1263 Main St., for a mobile home fire. 824 was third in. On arrival, 803
told me to bring in a water supply. I advised Command that the hydrant was quite a ways down the street and on the opposite side
of the street, and recommended we use tank water from the other engines rather than lay a 5' line. He agreed, and we supplied
831 from our tank. While Engineer Price was doing that. myself and FF Sundholm. made our way up to the structure to assist 831.
831 had made an exterior attack and knocked down most of the fire. I then took FF Mullen, form 831's crew and went inside to
finish knocking it down. We extinguished the fire and then back out as we were falling through the floors. I then went back in with
FF Sundholm to do some overhaul. After running out of air, we exited the building and got fresh bottles. 803 then told me to get
824 restored and go available. 824 returned.
Respectfully Submitted,
Captain Cox
