RE: Occupancy Inspection at 1188 Main'Street, Springfield, Ore~on
Dear Mr. Gocka:
At your request the Springfield Building Division conducted an Occupancy Inspection at
the above referenced address.
The proposed use of a portion of the building as a delicatessen will categorize that
: usage as a B-2 Occupancy. . : . '. -
.The following items shall be installed,.,repaired or replaced in order to conform to the
applicable codes for that occupancy.
STATE STRUCTURAL SPECIALTY CODE AND FIRE AND LIFE SAFETY CODE (S.S.C.)
1) When a building is used for more than one occupancy purpose, each part of the build-
ing comprising a disUrict "occupancy" shall be separated from any other noncompatible
occupancy. A "one-hour fire-resistive occupancy separation .wall" shall separate
the delicatessen area from the automobile repair portion of the' building. S.S.C.

2) The water closet rooms shall be provided with a mechanically operated exhaust sys-
tem, which is connected to the bathroom light switch. The exhaust system shall be
capable of providing a complete change of air every 15 minutes.' S,S.C'.-705 -.--
3) A Type II-A fire extinguisher shall be installed in an area accessible to all areas
of the'occupancy. Uniform Fire Code 10-1
OREGON ELECTRICAL SPECIALTY SAFETY CODE (E.S.S.C.)
1) Install grounding type duplex receptacle outlets in all areas. E.S.S.C. 210-7
2) Each circuit in the service panel shall be clearly identified. E.S.S.C. '110-22
3) Replace the missing junction box and outlet covers. E.S.S.C. 410-12
4) All other electrical work, such as adding or relocating outlets and connecting
equipment wiring; shall be performed by an Oregon licensed electrical contractor.

OREGON STATE PLUMBING SPECIALTY CODE (P.S.C.' .
1) A grease interceptor with a 20 gallon per minute flow rate and a minimum 40 pound
grease retention capacity shall be provided for the 3 part pot sink. P.S.C. 711
2) All plumbing fixtures. drains and appliances. used to receive or discharge liquid
wastes or sewage. shall be properly connected to the drainage system of the build-
ing. P.S.C. 302 .
OREGON MECHANICAL SPECIALTY CODE AND FIRE AND LIFE SAFETY CODE (M.S.C.)
/
1) A type II exhaust hood. vented to the exterior of the' building. shall be instal-
led above the cooking units. Type II hoods shall be constructed of not less than
No. 24 manufacturer's standard gage steel. M.S.C. 2003
2) Verify the location of the required fire dampers in the ducts supplied from the
heating unit located in the adjacent occupancy. M.S.C. 1006
All .necessary permits shall be obtained and required inspection conducted before a
Certificate of Compliance will be issued.
