Public Works Engineering Comments '
The subject application involves tax lots 10200, 10300, and 1030 I located at South "A" St.
between 6th St. and 7'h St. The applicant submitted plans to discuss the possibility of
constrhcting a new parking lot expansion 'area.
Applicant's Questions:
1. Does the proposed parking lot meet the Fire Department requirements?
Fire Department will respond to this question.
2. It may not be possible to meet the cities goal of treating 50% of theimpervious
surface vegetatively, wiD it be possible to get an exception to this goal?
I: .
All new and redeveloped sites need to comply with the minimum City codes and
standards. Only in rare cases would.a variance to code be considered but in those cases, .
the applicant must demonstrate why the code requirement(s) cannot be met or does not
apply in a particular case. With this site, it does appear to be possible to treat storm water
by vegetative methods such as with a vegetative bio-swale; however, itmay.require the
site layout to be slightly modified such as increasing the size of planter, area for a bio-
swale but this may reduce the total number of parking stalls presently proposed.
3. Does the proposed parking lot meet the city's transportation standards for access
and circulation?
Transportation Division will respond to this question.
,
4. Does the proposed parking lot have any specific landscaping requirements?
Planning Department will res~ond to this question.
5. Does the proposed parking lot have specific lighting requirements?
Planning Department and Transportation Division will respond to this question.
Additional Comments:
Proposed parking area (new impervious areas) will require System Development Charges
(SDC's) to be paid at the time of pavement permit issuance. The applicant will be
credited for any existing impervious areas presently located at proposed parking area.
