Listed below are our comments for the above referenced development proposal:
1.
The proposed development is currently outside of an established water service area. If public
water supply is desired, annexation of the property is required. At that time, SUB will serve
water to the property,

All new water system facilities and modifications to water system facilities both inside and

All water facility materials shall be to a standard that must meet suIi'Water'bivision
specifications,-

All workmanship shall be performed to meet or exceed SUB Water Division construction
standards.

Size of waterline and other facilities, including water meters, must meet the needs of the SUB
Water Division and the iong-range needs of the City: These needs include, but are not limited to,
meter location and access,.siz~s of water distribution and transmission 1ine~, pumping facilities,
and communication lines.

Fire service to this location will require the installation ofa 16" water transmission pipeline in the
Mt Vernon Road and Linda Lane. Funding for this project has not been determined at this time.
In accordance with current SUB policy the developer may be required to provide funding for the
construction in conjunction with an agreement for repayment of some portion of the cost by SUB.
The schedule for this project is dependent on a request from a developer for service.

Please ask'the developer to contact the SUB Water Division for detailed information on the
m~.teria!s and con~truction standards, detailed costs for installing SUB water facilities, and a
sqh~dule of con.s.tt:uction, ,C;ons1n!ction expenses may be (e9uced with good planning of required
water facilities, good timing ,?f facilities installation, and joint trench opportunities.

Water service facilities will be installed upon collection of development charges, Development
policies and charges identified in this letter are subject to change. Actual charges will be those in
effect at the time water service is requested,

Springfield has several wellhead protection areas, Ninety percent of Springfield's drinking water
comes from wells. In every instance, care shall be taken to prevent groundw'ater contamination.
Contractors/developers/owners shall be responsible for the safe handling and storage of
chemicals, petroleum products, fertilizers, and the prevention of groundwater and storm water
runoff contamination.
Special requirements may be necessary for groundwater protection at this development. Contact
Amy Chinitz at Springfield Utility Board Water Division for details at 726-2396.
10. "Backflow prevention devices will be re4uired [or this service, Please coritacl'Scott Higley at 726-
2396 prior to installing water service'. Scott'can help in the selection of the most economical
device and location. Water service will not be provided until a backflow plJn has been submitted
toSUB Water Engineering and approved for installation,
PLEASE NOTE:
SUB development charges are paid directly to SUB Water Division and
SUB Electric Division.
