CERTIFIED LETTER
Dear Mr. Cook:
As a result of a, recent inquiry relative to an offensive odor originating from the
. building located at 2020 Main Street, Springfield, Oregon, this office inspected
the property from the exterior on June 7, 1982. It appears that the meat lockers/
storage area between the market and the secondhand store is,the cause of the OdOT.
Section,5-l-l (3)(f) of the Springfield City Code prohibits ".. .premises which are
in such a state or condition as to cause an offensive odor or which are in an un-
sanitary condition." Please refer to the attached copy of the Code. The meat lock-
er/storage area must be restored to such condition so that it will not create an of-
fensive odor, Since we were,'not able to view the interior, it is difficult to des-
cribe to you the appTopriate corrective measures. However, odors of this type gen-
erally reflect unsanitary conditions, therefore, a thorough cleaning with a strong
disinfectant may solve the problem. The violation must be corrected by ten (10)
days from the date of this letter (July 16, 1982). Your anticipated courtesy and
cooperation is appreciated.
Please direct all inquiries to the Springfield,Building Division at 726-3753.
Sincerely,
"
