RESOLUTION NO. 09- 35
A RESOLUTION DECLARING CERTAIN PROPERTY OWNED BY THE CITY OF
SPRINGFIELD SURPLUS AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO SELL SUCH
PROPERTY TO THE AMERICAN RED CROSS FOR THE SUM OF $1.
WHEREAS, the City of Springfield provides public safety services to the citizens of
Springfield and our partner agencies; and,
WHEREAS, the American Red Cross provide's immediate relief for Springfield citizens
faced with disasters, and are an integral part of the emergency response plan; and,
WHEREAS, the 1991 Ford Van, VIN 1FTFE24H6MHA88308 has outlived its' useful
life and is no longer needed by Springfield Fire & Life Safety; and,
WHEREAS, Springfield Municipal Code Section 2.7l4 provides that the City may
dispose of surplus property by any means determined to be in the best interest of the City with
due regard for the value the City will receive from the disposal of the surplus property;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council hereby finds and
determines that the Property is not needed for public use, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, as follows:
1) The City Manager is directed to accept $1 from the American Red Cross as full
payment for said property, in "AS IS" condition, with no warranties of any type.
2) This resolution shall take effect upon adoption by the Council and approval by the
Mayor.
Adopted by the Common Council of the City of Springfield, Oregon, by a vote of ~
for and ~ against, this 21st day of Sept. ,2009.
