the existing sign because
the "sandwich board" sign on your property at 1936
At this time I'm not able to issue you a permit for
of the following reasons:
1. As specified in SectiDn'9-7-11 of the Springfield City Code. all
ground signs ~ust be a.minimum of 36" from the bottom of the sign
to ground level (see attached copy).

2. Your sign is attached to an adjacent utility pole which is not
an acceptable means of anchoring. .
Therefore, in order for your sign to conform to Code, it must either be removed
or properly installed. (Please see attached copy of Section 9-7-11 of the
Springfield Code which specifies the proper installation of ground signs.) You
will have 30 days from the date of this letter'to correct the above violation
(October 30, 1978). If you choose to alter the sign to comply with the Code, a
permit must be obtained from the Springfield Department of Public Works.
Please direct all inquiries to the Springfield Building Division at 726-3753.
