OREGON 97477 PUBLIC WORKS March 5, 1979 346 MAIN STREET 726.3753 CERTIFIED LETTER Mr. Doyle McMillin 1749 Main Street Springfield, Oregon Dear Mr. McMillin: 97477 ~ At your request, the Building Division of the City of Springfield made a housing inspection on February 23, 1979, at 1749 Main Street, Springfield, Oregon. The following items must be repaired or replaced to conform with the Uniform Housing Code as adopted by the City of Springfield: 1. The'kitchen sink is not properly vented. 2. The washer drain requires a trap and vent. 3. The hot water tank pressure relief valve must be piped to the exterior of the building. 4. The connector between the gas stove'and chimney must be at least 18 inches from the wall. 5. Bedroom windows must open freely for emergency exits. 6. The front bedroom window must be replaced with an openable window that meets code. 7. Install a screened door on the underfloor access opening to provide additional underfloor ventilation. 8. Repair the lockset on the front bedroom door. 9. Repair the wall at both ends of the bath tub. 10. The rear bedroom door needs a striker plate and the door must be adjusted to close. 11. Repair utility room floor and/or floor covering. 12. Provide attic ventilation as required in the Uniform Housing Code. 13. Install adequate' gutter downspouts. 14. Move the hall ceiling light away from the wall at least 12 inches. 16. Rewire the hot water heater so all cable is grounded and placed in .,' flexable conduit, 17. .' 18. .. 19. Rewire the dryer outlet. Remove all zip cord wiring. We recommend adding additional circuits for kitchen, utility rooms and the garage.
