Since the existing structure was originally a.two:car:residential garage (clas'sified
M-l) and the proposed use is a commercial automotive service and detailing facility

To meet this requirement it is recommended that the existing structure be jacked-up
and a concrete .curb or stem-wall be installed for the structure to rest on. A pres-
sure treated sill plate shall be secured to the stem-wall with minimum 1:1" ~ x 10"
anchor bolts at maximum spacing of 6 feet, with a minimum of 2 bolts per piece not
greater than 12" from each end. Section 2907 (e) S.S.C. -'

S.S.C. The existing overhead doors are not recognized as exit doors by the S.S.C.
4) The east wall of the structure is only about 4 feet from the easterly property line.
Table 5-A, S.S.C. requires that this wall be of one-hour rated .fire-resistive con-
struction. The wall shall be modified to meet this requirement according to the
assemblies recognized in Table 43-B, S.S.C., or the Gypsum Association Fire-Resis-
tive Design Manual.
The City Electrical lnspector, Jim Matteson, has approved the. electrical service con-
nection, and the service request was sent to the Springfield Utility Board. You are
hereby given 60 days from this date to modify the structure as outlined above, or the
City Building Division will order the electrical service disconnected.
During the interium period until items 1-4 above are completed, the structure shall be
used for storage only and no automotive serivce or detailing shall be performed within
the structure.
