AN ORDINANCE P~RTAINING'TO ELECTRICAL CODES AND SAFETY, AMENDING SECTION 9-3-1,
9-3-6 (d), DELETING S~CTIONS 9-3-17, 9-3-18, AND 9-3-19 OF TH~ SPRINGFI~LD COD~ 1965,
AND DECIJU~ING J\l~ EMERGENCY.
THE CITY OF SPRINGFIELD DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1: Section 9-3~1 of the Springfield Code 1965 is hereby amended to read
as follows:
9-3-1 National Electrical Corle--Adopted. The National Electrical Code, 1975
Edition, as adopted by the State of Oregon, Standard of the National Board of
Fire Underwriters for Electrical Wiring Apparatus, and adopted by the Amer~can
Standards Association (A.N.S.I. Ci. 1975) published by the National Fire Pro-
tection Association, (NFPA No. 70) and the same is hereby adopted as part of this
code, establishing an electrical code ,for the City, governing and regulating the
installation, repair, use, and removal-!.){ electrical wiring equipment and appli-
ances. Each and all of the regulations; provisions, condltions, and terms
contained therein are hereby referred to, adopted, and made part of this article,
as though fully set forth in this article. The following regulations shall also
be and are hereby made a part of this article.
Section 2: Section 9-3-6 (d) of the Springfield Code 1965 is hereby amended to
read as fo1101o/s:

(d) A fee of $25 shall be charged for a regular certificate of registration for
each place of business of a dealer in electrical products or supplies. However,
those dealers who 'can show the City of Springfield that their sales of electrical

income shall be exempt from the provisions of this subsection. '
Section 3: Section 9-3-17, 9-3-18, and 9-3-19 of the Springfield Code'1965
ere hereby repealed.
Section 4: Sections 9-3-20 through 9-3-27 of the Springfield Code 1965 are
hereby renumbered 9-3-17 through 9-3-24.
Section 5: It is hereby found and determined by the Common Council that matters
affecting the electrical ':ode and elcctrica~. safety in the City of_Spri.ngfield_are
matters affecting the ptililic safety and welfare and that an emergency therefore exists,
and that this ordinance shall therefore take' effect immediately upon its passage by
the Council and approval by the Mayor.
