" ,:Eugene, Oregon . 97401 ~ '~ .RE: Occupancy Inspection at 3010 Main Street, Springfield, Oregon Dear Mr. Barnes: At your request, the Springfield Building Safety Division conducted an Occupancy In- spection at the above referenced address. The proposed use of the building as a resaw mill is categorized as an H-3 Occupancy. The property is zoned for heavy industry, which permits your. proposed use. The type of construction is classified as Type V-No The following items shall be replaced, repaired or installed in order to conform with applicable codes for that occupancy: STRUCTURAL SPECIALTY CODE AND FIRE AND LIFE SAFETY REGULATIONS (S.S.C.) 1. Provide for adequate fire fighting capability by installing sprinklers or other water source in accordance with the attached Fire Department letter.. '2. Install curtain boards to divide the building 10ft into three, approximately equal sections. The curtain boards must extend 12' below the roof. 3. Provide two personnel exits located at least 115 feet apart so that no point in the building is farther than 150 feet from a required exit. '4. Repair loose roof sheets at the northwest building corner. 5. Replace enclosures for the large vehicle doors with structurally sound infill that is weather'resistive. 6. Rebuild stairs to the restrooms to provide maximum riser height of 7~" and minimum tread depth of 10", and provide handrails and ballisters at the stair sides in conformance with the Structural Specialty Code. Install a landing at the top of the steps, 4' in front of the restroom doors and within ~" of the top of the door thresholds. 7. Coordinate the size, type and location of fire extinguishers with the City Fire Marshal. 8. John Barnes Connie Barnes 5OJ.345-2048 ELECTRICAL SPECIALTY SAFETY CODE (E.S.S.C.), 1. General repair and maintenance is needed on equipment and fixtures, including lighting, transformer and feeder to restrooms. 2. Install flex conduit on the water heater cable. NOTE: The electrical system appears to be compatible with the. proposed use except as noted above. PLUMBING SPECIALTY CODE (P.S.C.) 1. The bathrooms must either be moved to the north end of the building to provide proper grade of the sewer line, or the sewer line must be'removed from the building at its present location and must be rerouted outside of the building with required grade. 2. P.V.C. or A.B.S. sewer pipe when used inside the building line must be schedule "40 pipe"; thin wall P.V.C. sewer pipe is intended for outside the building line. 3. Rehang wall hung lavatory in the north bathroom. 4. P.V.C. water pipe is not to be used inside the building. Replace with C.P.V.C., copper or galvanized steel pipe. 5. Caulk around all fixutres. 6. Intercept plumbing vents from bathroom and extend above the roof so sewer gas can- not vent into the building. The above items are requirements only for the building. parking, paving, etc. have not been addressed as part of might ~e required as part of Development Coordination. Other items, such as required this initial inspection and All necessary permits shall be obtained and required inspections approved before a Certificate of Occupancy will be issued.
