Subject: Case # DRC2008,00023
ATTENTION.. Mr Steve Hopkins,
This email is in addition to the letter and photos that were hand delivered by our neighbor Mr Robert Mercer.. with
regards the Sonic/Abbys pizza restuarants to be built in my "BACKYARD"so to speak.. My main concern is not being able
to recover the previous rear access that was once available to my parents when they lived in this house. There was rear
access, until another greedy developer took it away.
My lot is a dividable lot and you can not come back at me and say it is not,as there already have been lots same size as
mine to the east of my property, just two houses down, that have been divided off.
It was my parents intention to sell off the back lot to help finance their retirement and now its my hope to do the same.
I have no savings, and no 401 k of any kind. To be able to have rear access so as to sell off my back half would give me
a little bit better way of life when I retire in a year or two. '
How would you feel, sitting out in your back yard in the summer time relaxing, and having to listen to the constant traffic
right across your back fence as people drive up to the drive through window.. We DO NOT want to have to listen to
people ordering their burgers or whatever, all day and all hours of the night. So my suggestion of the building being
turned 180deg would help alleviate some of that and give them more parking either side of their building and not up
against our back fence. We spend a lot of time in, our back yard in the warmer weather, both my wife and I and we also
like to entertain in the backyard:. So PLEASE have some consideration for others. As I said my parents bought this house
in the mid 1960's so we have the right to some kind privacy that we currently enjoy.
Another concern is having the huge dumpsters up against our back fence to attract all kinds of vermin to the area"
We have a right to live out our retirement in our own home without having to live with another fast food place in this
area" I k now we cant stop them, but at least they should show some decency to others who donthave much in life..
The letter we received in the post, was mis, leading, as we were told that we had until 5 pm on April 9th to lodge our
feelings on the matter.. However we read in the Business section of the Register Guard, that they are meeting
today..Tuesday the 8th.. I feel this was very deceiving as well.. There are 6 houses to the west of us in Scott Road who
all have rear access to their property and we feel strongly we have the right to the same access,
We may have to seek legal advice on how to achieve this, just not sure where to start, but we will look into it. Initially we
were only given about two weeks to lodge our feelings on the matter.. We should have been given more time.. Was the
shortness of time given, just so we did'nt have time to lodge a full scale complaint.. 1m feeling that there is something
very under handed going on and we will be the innocent victims..

So if this is the kind of under handedness we have to deal with, I can see we are going to have a problem
