Tom,
I am not going to have this debate with Mike, He apparently doesn't get it and I don't think he is going to listen if it
comes from me, I think'You and I understood the larger issues at stake during our discussion this morning and I think
Mike needs another tune up from that perspective by his boss,
I have instructed my st~ff to refocus and go back into problem solving mode when Mike politely requests to re-examine
ALL of the standards that apply. That does not pre-suppose the outcome, just a different tone,
Thanks again,
JD

Jim,
I was dissappointedthat you did not call me but instead choose to call Tom. I have worked hard to complete this project
and have met some unexpected resistance with City staff to complete it. I worked with your staff and only included you
when it seemed that it could be helpful. I called you this morning because I wanted to know from your perspective what I
could've done differently. As I look back through the e-mails I still can't see what I should have done differently. I am not
saying I communicated everything perfectly, but the idea was to communicate. It doesn't have to be today but can you
still give me a call (485-4505) so I can make some adjustments if necessary.
Sincerely,
Mike
