Thanks. Mike Kaiser Sent: Friday, February 06, 2009 11:40 AM Subject: RE: ERAC Mike: I had been awaiting final confirmation from ODOT after receiving the plan sets you provided some time, ago. Based on the reviewer ~omments from ODOT I just received, some minor plan revisions to the driveway and wings will probably be required. Once the plans have been adjusted accordingly to meet ODOT's requirements, please provide S copies for the Final Site Plan set, Regarding the rolling gate, there isn't any requirement for a fence/gate permit or detail based on your description of the fence materials and'height. Please let me know if you have any questions, Thanks Andy Limbird City of Springfield From: Michael Kaiser [mailto:mkaiser@poage,net] Sent: Thursday, February 05, 2009 9:51 AM To: 11MBIRD Andrew SUbject: ERAC Andrew, I have not heard from anyone at the City so I am curious what is happening with the plans submitted a couple of weeks ago. I also had a question on the gate that ODOT required across the Main Street exit. I proposed it as a 28 foot long, wrought iron, roiling (Ioc.kable) gate, that is 30" - 42" high. It is setback over 12 feet from the right of way (over 19' from the curb on Main) so it is not within the vision triangle or the front yard (this is an LMI zone). As I read the code (SDC 4.4-115, Table 4.4"1) the gate (fence) could be up to 8 feet high and per SDC4.4-115 B. 1.,a construction permit is not required as the gate we are proposing is not over 6 feet high. The client has not settled yet on a final design with the steel fabricator but I think 42" is the highest they want to go. I just wanted to confirm that we,did not need a construction permit for it. I am hoping that what we submitted was enough for you to make sure the planning requirements are met (for ODOT and the Site Review). If not, what other kind of details would you need? Do you care about seeing a detail With spacing of the iron pickets, the picket size, etc? Would there be any1hing in such details for you to approve or not? If not I would not see any point in submitting them as we do not need a permit for it. Mike 1 d :z/{,./;w>Q,r Date Receive: -; Planner: AL
