RE: Identity Sign
~
Dear Mr. Williamson:
For your reference I have enclosed the Springfield Sign Code exerpt for
the Commercial District in which your business is located.
Our records indicate that the existing Pit Stop identity sign is well
within the area limitations allowed two or more businesses, so I see no
problem with your sharing the existing poles to support your sign as well.
Also for your information, I verified the location of the property line
fronting on Main Street as being 27 feet back from the face of the curb.
This abnormally wide street right-of-way is due to a State proposal to
redesign the 42nd and Main Street intersection, and encompasses your
lot and the lots on each side of you. The City Sign Code requires that
all signs be located completely within the property line in a manner that
prohibits vehicles from coming within two feet of any portion of the sign.
Questions regarding these sign requirements may be directed to me at
726- 3669.
Sincerely,
#'~~~
