The proof roll was conducted using a fully loaded tandem axle dump truck weighing approximately 50,000 pounds. No deflection (pumping) were observed, indicating a firm, stable subgrade at this time with the exception of an area 25' x 12' on the small connector road. (See Site Plan). At this location recommended a 6 inch over excavation due to soft soil. No.: Weather: P0272-334-0809 Clear Field Observations and Comments Observed a proofroll for the parking lot and driveway pavement areas in the following locations: driveway entrance and. bus lane. (see attached site plan) The proofroll was conducted using a tandem axle dump trugk weighing approximately 55,000 pounds. No deflections (pumping) were observed under the wheel loads and no wheel tracking (rutting) occurred, indicating a firm, stable subgrade at this time, except for the following area: a 30' long by 12' wide area on the bus lane adjacent to existing trees (see site plan). At this location, the subgrade was deflecting and rutting under the wheel loads due to over optimum moisture. Recommended over excavating the area 6 inches and replacing with additional crushed rock, or place an additional 6" + of rock if grades are raised in this location adjacent to bike shelter (no over excavation required). Contractor was asked to notify our office when additional services are needed.
