This specification is for use over any type of structural
deck which is not nailable and which offers a suitable
surface to receive the roof. Poured and pre-cast con-
crete decks require priming.
It is also for use over Fesco", Fes-Core '.. Fesco-Foam"',
UllraGard Gold ,. or other approved insulation which offers
a suitable surface to receive the roof. This specification is
not to be used over light.weight insulating concrete decks
either poured or pre-cast or over fill made of light-weight
insulating concrete.
Note: All general instructions contained in thecurrentManville
Industrial/Commercial Roofing Systems Manual shall be con-
sidered part of this specification.

Industrial/Commercial Roofing Systems Manual.

Starting at the low edge of the roof area apply one 12"
wide, then a 24" wide, then a full 36" wide GlasPly
Premier or GlasPly IV. All following felts are to be
applied full width overlapping the preceding felt by 24'/3'
giving a minimum of 3 plies at all points. Install each felt
so that it shall be firmly and uniformly set, without voids,
into the hot asphalt (within 250 F of the EVT) applied just
before the felt at a nominal uniform rate of 23 Ibs. per
square over the entire surface.
Prior to application, cut the cap sheet into handleable
lengths (12'-18') and allow to flatten. When nailing is
required, cut the cap sheet into lengths which conform
to the nailer spacing. Starting at the low edge of the roof
area, apply one layer of the cap sheet, being sure to
maintain 2" side laps and 6" end laps over the preceding
sheets. Apply the cap sheet in a full width mopping of hot
asphalt (approx. 200 F above the EVT to maximize
bonding of the cap sheet to the ply sheets) at the approx.
rate of 23/lbs/sq to the ply sheet(s), also applying
asphalt to the side lap area on the backside of the cap
sheet. Then flop the cap sheet into the hot asphalt. At
ambient temperatures below 700 F, see the cold applica-
tion section of the Manville Industrial/Commercial
Roofing Systems Manual. The cap sheet must be firmly
and uniformly set into the hot asphalt with all edges well
sealed.
Nailing: For slopes greater than 1" per foot: nailing is
required. Refer to Para. 10.1 & 11.0.5 or 11.1.
'GlasPly Premier required for No Dollar Limit (NOL) Guarantees.
