(503) 375 0539 June 27, 2003 Attn: Lisa Hopper City of Springfield Development Services Department 225 51b Street Springfield, OR 97477 Concerning: Plan Check Job #'5 02-00757-01 (4865 Main Street) & 02-00758-01 (4920 Aster Street) Ms. Hopper: As we discussed on the telephone we are approaching the deadline for completing the plan check process on the above referenced job numbers, As these projects are located on the same parcel and will be built at the same time we would like to request a six 1l1Onth extension of the deadline for the plan check process for both job numbers. The reason for our request is financing related. Due to the uncertainties with the budget for the State of Oregon, and in particular the Medicaid funding for senior housing, the process of obtaining financing on projects such as this one has become more difficult. In addition, just the overall uncertainties in the economy over the past 1-2 years have increased the lending industry's apprehension in lending on these types of projects. However. over the past 4-6 months we have noticed that lenders are more motivated to lend in the senior housing sector and we are confident that we will obtain financing for these projects and begin construction by the end of2003. n7?
