Subject: Courte~y InspectIon at 4625 Main Street #2 Spl'ingfield, Oregon.
Dear Mr. ~andland:
At the request of y~ur tenant, the Springfield Building Safety Division
conducted an inspection of the prOI)erty located at the above address. The
inspection revealed items which do not meet the minimum City Housing Code
requirements and mus,t be corrected. They consist of the foLlowing:
Structural
1. An f1pproved smoke detector shall ue installed in hallways or other ar'eas
providing access to rooms used for sleeping purposes.
Electrical
2. The connector block on the WIrIng harness in the 120v wall heater' has a
blackened c6nnection indicating poor contact in the connector. This
harness must be repaired or replaced.
3. Light fixtures shall ue adequately secured to the structure. The fixture
in the Southwest bedroom is being supported by tIle electrical wiring
creating a potential for wiring failure and resultant shock or fire.
The required corrections shall be completed with appropriate inspection
approvals from this office within thirty (30) days from the date of this
notice. In the event you do not comply with these requirements within the
specified time limit, legal action may be taken to obtain compliance.
Please note that installation or repair of electrical systems on property
which is intended for loase, sale or rent must be done by an electrical
contractor who is licensed by the State of Oregon.
