Springfield Fire Marshals Office has no comment on the 600 sq, ft. enclosed addition and 600
sq. ft. unenclosed smoking deck addition. However, after consultation with City of Springfield
Building Official Dave Puent, the applicants need to be made aware that since the occupant
load is over 100, any substantial interior remodel being considered as described on Plan Sheet
2 will likely require that the entire building be retrofitted with an approved automatic sprinkler
system meeting current fire and building code requirements.
