Dear John,
I'm writing with regard to the building documents submitted to this'office for the
proposed addition to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3965, located at 5344 Main Street,
Springfield, Oregon. In the process of collecting the necessary information for plan
review, it became apparent that the proposed addition would increase the total square
footage of the structure to. over 4,000 square feet, thus subject to the design criteria
established under Oregon Revised Statue CORS) 671.030 Architects' Law. Please refer
to the attached copy.
In substance, this requires that the plans and specifications for the project where
the combined square footage will exceed a total of 4,000 square feet be prepared and
designed by an engineer or architect licensed by the State to practice.
Subsequently, further plan review cannot proceed until determination of compliance
with the Architects' Law can be achieved. You may wish to do one of the following
things:
1. Have the necessary construction documents for the proposed addition prepared by
a licensed architect or engineer. - or -
2. Have the documents returned to you and not proceed with the. proposed addition.
The documents that have been submitted to this office will be held until we' receive
further instructions from you concerning this matter.
