AN ORDINANCE RENAMING THAT PORTION OF GATEWAY STREET, BEGINNING AT THE NORTHERLY 2,200 FEET, MORE OR LESS, TO THE CENTERLINE LIMITS, ALL IN SECTIONS 15 AND 22, TOWNSHIP MERIDIAN, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. NORTH GAME FARM ROAD (COUNTY ROAD 209) TO RIGHT-OF-WAY LINE OF BELTLINE ROAD, NORTHERLY OF INTERSTATE 5, WITHIN SPRINGFIELD'S CITY 17 SOUTH, RANGE 3 WEST OF THE WILLAMETTE WHEREAS, the Springfield City Council has declared its intention to rename a portion of North Game Farm Road (County Road 209) to Gateway Street as attached; and WHEREAS, such renaming of said street is in the best interest of the City in carrying out its plans and programs for the general development of the City; and WHEREAS, the Springfield Planning Commission, by a vote of 5 in favor, 0 opposed, and 1 absent, recommended City Council approval of said street renaming; and WHEREAS, lawful notice of the street renaming was published and mailed; and WHEREAS, the Springfield City Council met in Council Chambers, at 225 Fifth Street, on Monday, the 16th day of October 1995, at the hour of 7:00 p.m., to hear any objections to the proposed street renaming and ~ persons appeared to object; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL DOES ORDAIN: Section 1: The Council finds that legal notice of the hearing was lawfully published and mailed to all properties and property owners within 300 feet of the request; that ____ objections were made at the street renaming hearing held; that public interest will not be impaired by the street renaming; and that said street renaming will be to the best interest of the public and increase the benefit of the property involved. . Section 2: The following described street to be renamed: THAT PORTION OF NORTH GAME FARM ROAD (COUNTY ROAD 209) TO GATEWAY STREET, BEGINNING AT THE NORTHERLY RIGHT-OF-WAY LINE OF BELTLINE ROAD, NORTHERLY 2,200 FEET, MORE OR LESS, TO THE CENTERLINE OF INTERSTATE 5, WITHIN SPRINGFIELD'S CITY LIMITS, ALL IN SECTIONS 15 AND 22, TOWNSHIP 17 SOUTH, RANGE 3 WEST OF THE WILLAMETTE MERIDIAN. Section 3: It is hereby found and declared that matters pertaining to the renaming of this street are matters affecting the public health, safety and welfare of the City of Springfield and that this ordinance shall, therefore, take effect immediately upon its passage by the Council and approval by the Mayor. Section 4: The City Recorder is directed to file certified copies of this Ordinance with the Lane County Clerk, Lane County Assessor, and Lane County Surveyor.
