OREGON 97477 PUBLIC WORKS July 20, 1981 346 MAIN STREET 726.3753 Mr. Robert Bennett 5112 Main Street Springfield, Oregon 97477 ~ RE: Occupancy Inspection at 5112 Main Street, Springfield, Oregon Dear Mr. Bennett: At your request the Building Division of the City'of Springfield conducted an Oc- cupancy Inspection of the building located at 5112 Main Street, Springfield, Oregon on July 17, 1981, The proposed use of the building as an arcade type business will categorize its use- age as a B-2 Occupancy. The following items shall be installed, repaired or replaced in order to conform to all applicable codes for that occupancy, OREGON STRUCTURAL SPECIALTY CODE AND FIRE AND LIFE SAFETY (S.S.C.) 1) Exterior walls less than 20 feet from the property line, except those fronting on streets, shall be of 1 hour rated fire resistive construction. 2) Wood located nearer than 6 inches to earth shall be treated wood or wood of natural resistance to decay. S.S.C. 2517 3) Where the minimum number of required fixtures will not provide separate facilities for men and women, the restroom shall ,be provided with a privacy lock and occupied indicator. S.S.C. Table 5-E 4) Lavatories in public restrooms shall: a) Be equipped with outlet devices which limit the flow of hot water to a maximum of 0.5 gpm. P.S.C. 201 and S.S.C. 5308 (b) b) , 0 Be equipped with devices which limit the outlet temperature to maximum of 110 F, P.S.C. 201 and S.S.C. 5308 (b) c) Be equipped with self closing valves that limit delivery to a maximum of 0.25 gallons of hot water. P.S.C. 201 and S.S.C. 5308 (b) 5) All water closet rooms shall be provided with an exterior window at least 3 square feet in area, fully openable. S.S,C. 705 6) Each water closet stool shall be located 'in a clear space not less than 30 inches in width and have a clear space in front of not less than 24 inches. S.S.C. 1711' . . . . S.S.C. 1711 OREGON ELECTRICAL SAFETY CODE 1) The electrical service equipment is to be removed from the restroom area. It is recommended that the service equipment be installed on an exterior location using raintight equipment. E.S.C, 320-72 ec) 2) Increase the electrical service to not less than 125 ampere capacity and provide the service panel with a main disconnect and adequate spaces for overcurrent pro- tection devices. E.S.C. 230-79 and 230-94 3) All electrical outlets shall be supplied by circuits with a ground conductor. E.S.C. 250-42, 75 4) Properly install the baseboard heaters. E.S.C. 110-3 (a) (b) 5) Remove the existing fixture cord wiring to the'attic light. E.S.C. 402-11 6) All equipment, including the installation of game machines are to be properly bonded. E.S.C. 250-42 7) Install recessed lighting fixtures in ceiling where existing fixtures are exposed to physical damage. E.S.C. 90-1 Oregon Electrical Safety Law Section 22-110 (b) states that electrical work performed on property that is for rent, sale or lease, shall be done by an electrical contractor.
