ORDINANCE NO. 5781 (GENERAL) AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 8-18-19, ARTICLE 18 "AMBULANCE AND EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES", CHAPTER VIII "BUSINESS" OF THE SPRINGFIELD CODE PERTAINING TO FIREMED AMBULANCE MEMBERSHIP PROGRAM AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. THE CITY OF SPRINGFIELD, OREGON DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Section 8-18-19 of the Springfield Code is hereby amended as follows: "8-18-19 FireMed Paramedic Ambulance Membership. There is hereby established FireMed Paramedic Ambulance Membership. FireMed is a voluntary subscription service which shall entitle a subscriber and the members of his or her immediate family to unlimited ambulance service. In consideration for the unlimited ambulance service, subscribers shall pay an annual fee of $39.00 and assign to the City of Springfield any benefits for ambulance services in the insurance policies of the members or the member's immediate family. Immediate family is normally defined as the member, his or her spouse, and all unmarried children less than 21 years of age usually residing in the member's residence." SECTION 2. It is hereby determined by the Common Council that matters pertaining to the FireMed Ambulance Membership Program are matters affecting the public, health, safety, and welfare and that an emergency therefore exists and that this ordinance shall therefore become effective on April 1, 1995, and upon the passage by the Council and approval by the Mayor.
