Subject:
Housing Inspection at 6315 :\fain Street, Spdngfield, Oregon.
Dear ]\Ir. Mason:
At your request, the Community Sen-ices Division/Building Safety conducted a Housing
Inspection at the above address. The inspection revealed items which do not meet the
minimum City Housing Code requirements and must be corrected. They consist of the
following:
Structural
1. The upstairs area is not approved as habitable space and shall not be used as such
when the home is relocated.
Electrical
2. Electric light fixtures installed in closets andlor storage areas shall be ["emoved or
replaced with a fIXture constructed to totally enclose the lamp within the glass.
3. Inoperable, faulty or damaged electrical outlets andlor switches shall be repaired or
replaced.
4. The circuit breakers and interior of the service panel is nllSslllg, exposing live
electrical wiring to accidental contact, and shall be replaced.
5. Broken or missing cover plates were noted on electrical outlets, switches andlor
junction boxes and shall be replaced.

6. Improper splicing of electrical wiring was observed. The splices or terminal end of
electrical wiring must be contained in an approved junction box, with a cover, to
prevent possible electric shock or fire resulting from exposed electrical wiring or
short-circuit conditions.
7. Wiring in the building space shall be adequately secured to the structure every four
and one-half feet to minimize the potential for accidental damage.
Plumbing
8. All residential living units shall have access to complete bathroom and kitchen
facilities, including kitchen sink, bathtub/shower, toilet and lavatory.
