Dear Mr. Fuller:
The property at 6155 Main Street in Springfield, Oregon is currently zoned R-1
Single Family Residential District and therefore cannot have more than one resi-
dential unit on that lot.
The procedure to increase the number of dwelling units on a given property is to
make application for a change of zone with the Springfield Planning Commission.
The Planning Department, through which zone change applications are processed, is
located at the new City Hall at 225 North 5th Street.
Because you are'now 'in violation of Section 6.01 of the Springfield Zoning Code by
having two dwelling units in an R-1 Single Family Residential District, you are
hereby given until November 3, 1981 to apply for zone change. If the change of
zoning is not accomplished during the regular planning commission process, which
we will monitor, you will be required to vacate the now illegal rental unit located
behind the dwelling at 6155 Main Street.
If the zone change is accomplished, a housing inspection will be required to verify
compliance with the Uniform Housing Code as adopted by the City of Springfield and
property line setbacks as required by Section 8.03 of the Springfield Zoning Ordinance.
Verification will also be required of proper installation of all utilities.
