'" This building, being served by a driveway on the west side of the dwelling addressed "" --6155 Main, will be addressed as 6153 Main Street and will be thus, referred to iri this .'.';:' and any future correspondence. .-...... The above mentioned housing inspection revealed that an attempt has been made, by someone in the past, to make a single family dwelling unit from an existing garage. Our records fail to show any permits obtained for or inspections made on the remodeling that has been done. As the new owner of this property we are not holding you responsible for the remodeling that has been done, by others except fori those items that do not meet the ':': ".. Uniform Housing Code (U.H.C.) as adopted by the City of Springfield. j..,' " Sanitation :,~ '... . '-, . ,The plumbing system has been installed incorrectly and falls into the category of hazard- ous plumbing as described in Section 1001(f) of the, U.H.C. and therefore requires correc- tions to be made in accordance with the U.H.C. as adopted by the City of Springfield and the current Oregon State Plumbing Specialty Code (P.S.C.). The items that must be 'repaired or replaced are as follows: ' '" 1. A fullway shut-off valve must be installed on the water supply to the house and on the cold water supply to and near the water heater. P.S.C. Section 1005(b) 2. The water supply to the house must be of a minimum size of 3/4". P.S.C. Section 1009(h) 3. All fixtures must be vented to the exterior of the building. P.S.C. Section 501, 504 & 506 ' 4. 5. 6. The lavatory, sink and shower waste cannot be piped into a 2" toilet vent. Traps are required on the shower and bath lavatory drains. P.S.C. Section The sewer pipe must be schedule 40 ABS type. Section 40b(a)4 The water heater must have a 3/4" pressure relief valve and drain pipe. The bathroom must have an exhaust fan or an openable window. U.H.C. Section 503(a) If a range hood is used, it must exhaust to the exterior of the building. Mechanical Specialty Code Section 1901(c) Electrical Safety ,/ The electrical system has been improperly installed or altered and constitutes hazardous wiring as described in Section 1001(e) of the U.H.C. as adopted by the City of Springfield , and requires the repair or replacement of the following items as required by the U.H.C. and by the Oregon State Electrical Specialty Code (E.S.C.): 1. On exposed cabl~ flexible steel conduit must be used terminating in an elbow connec- tion into the water heater junction box. E.S.C. 336-5, 6, & 7, Department of Com- merce Code Letter of 12-13-76. '2. Install extension rings on all switch and outlet junction boxes located in wood panel ,walls. E.S.C. Article 370-10 & ISb 3. All switches, outlets & fixtures must be securely anchored in boxes. E.S.C. Article 210-7, 410-18 The wiring to and from the electrical panel are all grounded and it is recommended that all outlets and switches be attached to a proper grounded wire.
