Whenever possible. the initial application will be used as
a worksheet only. Where pos.sible. Building Division Staff
will prepare a type written copy and return it to the
applicant at the time the actual permit is issued for his
Signature.
IV. Fees and Charges
Plan check fees are due and payable at the time of the
application, and no plans will be processed until these
fees are paid. All other fees and charges are due and
payable when the permit is issued.

At your request the Springfield Bui IcJinq Division conducted an Occupancy Inspection
of the,small structure which was ten~orarily used as an insurance office at 5846
Main Street, Springfield, Oregon.

the applicable codes for that occupancy.
STATE STRUCTURAL SPECIALTY CODE MID FIRE MIO LIFE SAFETY CODE (5.5.5.)
Exterior wall s located I ess than a di stance of 20 feet from the pronerty 1 ine
shall be of not less than one-hour fire-resistive construction. Openings in
these walls located less than 10 feet from the property line shall be protected
by a fire assembly having a one-hour fire protection rating. Openings shall not
be permitted if the Droperty line is less than 5 feet from these walls. Table

The existing wood roof covering has out-lived its function for adequately pro-
viding moisture protection. Total replacement of the roof covering will be
'necessary. Combustible wood roof coverings for a B-2 Occupancy shall be used
only if there is a minimum of 10 feet from the roof edge to, the a . property

as parking, site improvements, sidewillks, etc., have not been addressed as part of
this initial inspection and might be rcquried as part of Site Plan Review.
