Mr. ,Tcm Large 1749 Main Street Springfield, Oregon 97477 RE: Occupancy Inspection at'5846 Main Street, Springfield, Oregon * Dear ~!r. Large: At your request the Building Division of the City of Springfield conducted an Occupancy Inspection of the building located at 5846 Main Street, Springfield, " Oregon. The proposed use of the building as an insurance office will categorize it's useage as a B-2 Occupancy. It is our understanding that this building would onl)' be utilized on a "tempor- ar)' basis" until construction of a new facility is completed. Due to the nature and location of the building, even though the following items were installed, re- 'placed, or repaired, the utilization of the building ,for this occupancy shall not exceed a period of one year from the date of this letter (September 25, 1982). If the future plans do not materialize or completion of the above mentioned build~ ing is not accomplished b)' this date, no extension of the temporary occupancy shall be granted and the building will be posted by the Springfield Building Division "DO NOT OCCUPY". -.., The following items include but are not limited to a complete list of items that shall be installed, repaired or replaced in. order to conform to all applicable codes for that occupancy: 1) The office area shall be provided with natural ventilation by 'means of exterior openings with an area not less than 1!20th of the total floor area, or shall be provided with a mechanically operated ventilation system capable of providing a minimum of five (5) cubic feet per minute of outside air with a total circu- lation of not less than 15 cubic feet ,per minute per occupant and such system shall be kept continuously in operation during such time as the building is oc- cupied. S.S.C. 705 2) A 2-A Rated fire extinguisher shall be installed in a conspicuous location mounted three to five feet from floor level. Uniform Fire Code 10.301 OREGON ELECTRICAL SAFETY CODE (E.S.C.) 1) The electrical sub-panel which has been improperly installed must be removed. E.S.C. 110-8 l\ . . S. C. 230-79 3) The service neutral bar shall be properly bonded to the cold water system within the building and to a supplementary exterior grounding electrode. E.S.C. 250-81 4) Each branch circuit shall be legibly identified as to indicate its purpose. E.S.C. 110-22 5) The bathroom light fixture shall be properly bonded to the cold water piping with a minimum number 12 copper conductor. E.S.C. 250-42 and 45. NOTE Oregon Electrical Safety Law Section 22-110 (b) states' that electrical work performed on property that is for rent, sale, or lease, shall be done by an electrical contractor.
