Dear Mr. and Mrs. Strong:
This office has been requested to assist Sally Johnson, Environmental
Controller, responsible for code enforcement within the City of Spring-
field, and Dick Johnson, Director of Planning, City of Springfield, in
resolving an apparent controversy regarding your retail outlet for the
sale of plants at 5809 East Main Street.
It is our understanding that you maintain a greenhouse on Deerhorn Road
in Springfield, and that you retail plants at the above set forth Main
Street address. If our understanding is correct, your opera'tion is in
violation of the Springfield Clty Code/as a commercial retail outlet
it is not permitted by the zoning designation for the 5809 East Main
Street property. '
Accordingly, it is requested that you contact Sally Johnson, Environ-
mental Controller, City of Springfield, to determine whether there is
a means by which your retail plant operation can be brought into con-
formance with the Springfield Zoning Code.
We request that you contact Hs. Johnson, (telephone no. 726-3753) no
later than July 18, 1979.
