MEMO TO: Sally Johnson, Building Inspector
FROM: Kevin Roberts" Traffic Administrator
SUBJECT: Strong's Plants, 5809 Main Street
'*'..
.
This is a follow-up to our inspection of the subject property on July 30,
1979. As we discussed, the current use of the property appears to be in
violation of the Zoning Ordinance. The site is primarily being used as a
horticultural retail outlet in a RA Zone without a conditional use permit.
The existing use of the property presents ser.i:ous traffic safety problems.
The driveway serving the premises has inadequate width to accommodate two
way traffic turning onto or from Main Street. Vehicles negotiating a left
or right turn into the driveway from Main Street would be in direct conflict
with a vehicle waiting to exit the driveway or a vehicle approaching' the .
driveway from within the site.
The site does not have parking stalls delineated, nor is there a defined
vehicle turnaround so vehicles do not back out onto Main Street. The
driveway from Main Street and the area being utilized for 'customer parking
is not paved. In order to comply with City standards and requirements of
the'Department of Environmental Quality, the parking and ciruclation area
must be paved to reduce air pollution (particulate matter).
Should you require additional information or have any questions, please :advise.
