SUBJECT: Hrs. Ina Strong, Conditional Use Permit App'Hcation For a Plant
Business At 5809 Main Street
The above property is currently being used as a horticultural retail business
in an'RA Zone. Mrs. Strong has applied for a conditional use permit in order
to conform to ,applicable City Codes and support a legal use on the property.
However, after a July 30, 1979 inspection of the premises by Kevin Roberts,
Traffic Administrator, and myself, it is evident that unless certain aspects
of the business are eliminated or altered, the property may not be in con-
formance with code requirements even if the conditional use permit is granted.
The following items may be in violation of the Springfield Zoning Code and/or
Uniform Building Code as adopted by the City of Springfield:
,1. The plants for sale are not raised on the property, although Mrs. Strong
informs us that she will start raising the plants on the same site next
growi!1g season.
2. Other items', such as macrame hangers and plant pots were being sold in
conjunction with the plants.
3. Two signs, approximately four feet by eight feet each; one an identity,
and one a non-identity sign, are displayed on the property.'
4. A greenhouse has been partially erected without a building permit.
