MESSAGE: Tim, In reviewing the applicable provisions for exits in Chapter 10 of the State
Structural Specialty Code. it appears that your proposal is in compliance based on the
following:
The door in question is a rear delivery door which is not a required exit door. It may
swing inward since it serves an occupant load of less than 50.
The door will not require a key or any special knowledge or effort to open from the
inside, so exit door hardware provisions are in compliance.
