ORDINANCE NO. 5755
AN ORDINANCE RENAMING GARDEN DRIVE TO DOUGLAS DRIVE, LOCATED IN
HAYDEN GARDENS FIRST ADDITION, IN THE CITY OF SPRINGFIELD, LANE COUNTY;
OREGON AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, the Springfield City Council has declared its intention to rename Garden
Drive to Douglas Drive, located within the Hayden Gardens First Addition, in the City of
Springfield; and .
WHEREAS, such renaming of said street is in the best interest of the City in carrying
out its plans and programs for the general development of the City; and
WHEREAS, the Springfield City Council met in Council Chambers, at 225 Fifth Street,
on Monday, the 17th day of October, 1994, at the hour of 7:00 p.m., to hear any objections
to the proposed street name change and ~ persons appeared to object;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE SPRINGFIELD CITY COUNCIL DOES ORDAIN:

Section 1: "[he Council finds that objections were made at the street name
change hearing held; ~hat the public interest willJ1l?t be impaired by the street name change,
and that the renaming of the said street will be in the best interest of the public and increase
the benefit of the property involved.
Section 2: Garden Drive shall be renamed Douglas Drive.
Section 3: The City Recorder is directed to file the certified copies of this ordinance
with the Lane County Clerk, Lane County Assessor, and Lane County Surveyor.

Section 4: It is hereby found and determined that matters relating to the renaming of
Garden Drive to Doug.las Drive are matters affecting the public health, safety and welfare and
that an emergency therefore exists, and that this Ordinance shall therefore take effect
immediately upon its passage by the Council and approval by the Mayor.
ADOPTED by the Common Council of the City of Springfield this 17th day of October,
1994, by a vote of ~ for and ~ against. .
APPROVED by the Mayor of the City of Springfield this 17th day of October, 1994.
